  • 14 colours
  • 35 × 38 grid
  • Intermediate
  • 2.6mm mini beads
In short: this free fuse bead pattern shows Kuromi on holiday, sitting in a purple duck-head swim ring. It uses 916 mini 2.6mm beads in 14 colours on a 35 × 38 grid. Once ironed, it measures about 9.1 × 9.9 cm and fits on a single 52 × 52 pegboard. All colour codes are MARD codes, compatible with Artkal and Hama mini beads.

Kuromi swaps her mischievous look for a beach day: she floats in a purple duck-head swim ring, with a bright yellow beak. With fourteen colours across blacks, greys and purples, it is a more detailed pattern to bead area by area. It looks great as a magnet or on a summer pencil case.

The green button adds one 1,000-bead bag per colour to your cart, enough to make the pattern with beads to spare. The second button opens our bead calculator with all 14 colours and exact quantities already filled in: check, adjust if needed, then add to cart. Some colours are only used for a few beads, such as D10 (8 beads), E06 (2 beads), F13 (2 beads), B23 (1 bead): for those, the second button is the more economical choice.

How to make Kuromi with a duck float with fuse beads

  1. Get the grid ready. Print the grid in colour or display it on a tablet next to your 52 × 52 pegboard.
  2. Prepare your beads and tools. Gather the 14 colours in the pattern (H02, H04, H07, D09, D07, H05, A08, D06, C13, F22, D10, E06, F13, B23), a 52 × 52 pegboard, bent-tip tweezers, ironing paper and an iron.
  3. Start with the outline in black (H07). Place it with bent-tip tweezers, following the grid row by row. It draws the silhouette and guides everything else.
  4. Fill the large areas. Use grey (H04), white (H02), wisteria (D09), amethyst (D07), anthracite (H05) and mustard (A08).
  5. Add the details. Finish with the small touches: amethyst (D06), lavender (C13), candy pink (F22), dark slate blue (D10), cherry (E06), tomato (F13) and taupe (B23).
  6. Iron. Cover the pattern with ironing paper, iron on medium heat without steam. Move in small circles for 10 to 20 seconds until the beads fuse. Let it cool under a book so your piece stays flat.
