How to make Chiikawa with watermelon with fuse beads
- Get the grid ready. Print the grid in colour or display it on a tablet next to your 52 × 52 pegboard.
- Prepare your beads and tools. Gather the 5 colours in the pattern (H02, G08, F05, E15, B16), a 52 × 52 pegboard, bent-tip tweezers, ironing paper and an iron.
- Start with the outline in wine red (G08). Place it with bent-tip tweezers, following the grid row by row. It draws the silhouette and guides everything else.
- Fill the large areas. Use white (H02) and dark cherry (F05).
- Add the details. Finish with the small touches: baby pink (E15) and pistachio (B16).
- Iron. Cover the pattern with ironing paper, iron on medium heat without steam. Move in small circles for 10 to 20 seconds until the beads fuse. Let it cool under a book so your piece stays flat.
