Some colours are only used for a few beads, such as E11 (8 beads): for those, the second button is the more economical choice.

How to make the penguin in a frog hood with fuse beads

  1. Get the grid ready. Print the grid in colour or display it on a tablet next to your 52 × 52 pegboard.
  2. Prepare your beads and tools. Gather the 8 colours in the pattern (B13, H14, H06, H02, A10, B12, B05, E11), a 52 × 52 pegboard, bent-tip tweezers, ironing paper and an iron.
  3. Start with the outline in onyx (H06). Place it with bent-tip tweezers, following the grid row by row. It draws the silhouette and guides everything else.
  4. Fill the large areas. Use pale yellow (B13), light grey (H14) and white (H02).
  5. Add the details. Finish with the small touches: pumpkin (A10), aqua green (B12), lime green (B05) and misty rose (E11).
  6. Iron. Cover the pattern with ironing paper, iron on medium heat without steam. Move in small circles for 10 to 20 seconds until the beads fuse. Let it cool under a book so your piece stays flat.
